Handle Your Day Carefully.
The account of Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. One of the channels through which you receive blessings, answers to prayer, and provision from the Lord is your day. Scripture teaches that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. In the account of Bartimaeus—as in other biblical narratives where individuals encountered the glory of God—the breakthrough depended on a particular, distinct, or specific day. A single day, whether managed well or poorly, can determine your honor or everlasting disgrace. It hinges on just one day; you can receive a long-awaited miracle, as occurred with Bartimaeus in Jericho. This outcome can be shaped by how you handle a single day. When his day arrived, circumstances appeared ordinary in the physical realm. It involved finding someone to guide him to the correct location, sitting and begging under either harsh or pleasant weather conditions. It seemed like a typical day in the physical sense. Indeed, nothing indicated that it was one of Bartimaeus’s most significant days. Yet in the spiritual realm, things were not as routine as they appeared physically. His day to regain his sight had come, and no one informed him of this. He received no prophecy. It could have been a day of heavy rain or extreme temperatures—whether excessively cold or hot. Alternatively, it might have been a day when he felt disheartened about traveling through Jericho or a day of conflict at home. It could have been a day marked by a negative or irritable mood. Consider those who attempted to silence him from calling upon the Lord for healing. Thus, a great day can be preceded by obstacles to your long-awaited spouse, employment, or a significant miracle. The manner in which you handle your day is crucial. Pray that the Lord will restore what you lost on your great day due to your temper, anger, mood, or any other weakness. Some even boast, saying, “I am in a bad mood today.” They fail to realize that they are forfeiting something greater from God behind the physical circumstances. The enemy manipulates the days of many people to cause them to miss God. However, you can choose to live an exceptional and excellent life before the Lord on a daily basis. Let this be your choice, rather than declaring, “I am in a bad mood today.” Resolve that you will not walk according to what you see, but according to faith in the word of God.Let us return to Jericho.”And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’ Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’ So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, ‘Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.’ And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.” (Mark 10:47-50 NKJV)We must learn to handle our days well; something significant may be approaching. We should prepare in every respect. Do not miss your great miracles from the Lord due to mishandling your days. A day handled well is like gold given to you by the Lord in this life. A single day can also determine or affect the life to come. Those who are in Paradise or Hell today had a day on which they determined their present destiny—how they handled that particular day. There is a time for every purpose under heaven.”To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 NKJV)Thus, you can see the struggle and effort Bartimaeus applied to make practical what existed in the spiritual realm. Bartimaeus bore the responsibility to overcome the barriers; he was not exempted, and neither will you be. You must make the choice to handle your days well and overcome any obstacle standing in the way of your great miracle. You should overcome every barrier to your prayer and its answer. It was not easy for this blind man, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. We must be cautious in how we handle the days we experience. Some days are not ordinary. They are carefully and specially intended for Heaven to remember us. Some have already missed their great miracles because of the mood, location, and actions they chose on their great days. You should avoid being carnally minded when handling each day. Be a spiritually minded person, recognizing that there are special days intended for Heaven to remember you and me. Do not let evil thoughts, anger, resentment, grudges, bad mood, or bad temper cause you to miss your great day and miracle. This was the day of the son of Timaeus. It did not find him seeing but still blind; not at home, but by the roadside; not giving money to people but begging from them; not in Jerusalem but in Jericho. Again, be careful how you handle your days. Your day can come when you are broke, when you have received the worst insults, or when you have faced the worst allegations and rejection. You do not know the day on which your history will be changed in this world. Be conscious of the way you handle your days. Bartimaeus used his day wisely and received his great miracle.Lastly, there is a day you will leave this world. Above all, there is that great day when Jesus is returning. Imagine mishandling this great day of the Lord. Would there not be a cost? Yes; there will be an eternal cost.
